Space-Tech Lab. DHT Single-ended Super OTL 845 mono blocks 100Wpc From Bazza in Oct 09, 2018Oct 09, 2018 From Bazza
I have been pursuing the perfection of music reproduction for 50 years and that journey continued with an audition, and subsequent purchase, of Albert's DHT single-ended OTL 845 mono block amplifiers. I have owned Krell, Levinson, Linn, Rogue Audio, Sonic Frontiers, in addition to Albert's earlier hybrid and 300B models. Without recognizing it, I had grown accustomed to the distortion of all amplifiers until hearing the 845 mono blocks with Psvane tubes. They reproduce exactly what is on the recording without being strident or fatiguing. High frequencies are airy, bass is tight and tuneful, channel separation is superb, the background is black/dead quiet, and the soundstage is the largest that I have ever reproduced in my room.
Although $7K is not inexpensive, it seems like a bargain compared to everything else I have owned and auditioned in the past. These amps are like the 77" OLED of TVs!
If you are in the Vancouver area you owe it to yourself to make an appointment to visit Albert's studio to witness, first hand, the genius of this man.
Space-Tech Lab. USB-DSD-DAC2 32bit 384K organic tube DAC with 5U4G rectifier From shalansk in Sep 18, 2018Sep 18, 2018 From shalansk
I am very happy with this DAC. It has improved the quality of my listening experience immensely. Al, who owns Space Tech, was very helpful and patient with my purchasing decision. He had also recently helped me with the purchase of a phone stage unit and super tweeters. My old stereo has never sounded so good - it has been an immense improvement. I live locally so I was able to hear several different equipment set up options, and even brought in some components of my exisiting system for comparison. Al gave me very helpful advice, and provided a buying experience that would not be possible in any stereo store - even those that sell high-end equipment. He is very easy to deal with, knowledgable, trustful, and pleasent. I feel that I got extremely good value for a substantial upgrade in the sound quality.
Space-Tech Lab. SEH-101-UX-Mk2 140Wx2 KT150 class A single-ended hybrid power amplifier From canuck1867 in Aug 15, 2018Aug 15, 2018 From canuck1867
This amplifier is very musical; world class I would wager to say. Bass control is top notch and quite an improvement over my other well regarded amplifier which has about four times the power output. Mids are liquid and sweet, and highs shimmer and sparkle much like the real thing. Impressive resolving power and reproduction of musical timbre is amazing. I'm able to listen to the SEH101 for hours without a trace of fatigue. Quite a nice looking amplifier too, and compact. The "air" feature is interesting and truly does seem to open up and add air around the instruments. The effect isn't subtle. As usual Al of Space Tech was accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended.

Space-Tech Lab. SR-003 remote controllable Schumann resonator From micoz in Dec 19, 2017Dec 19, 2017 From micoz
Best buying experience ever. Al was super quick giving details of product and postage. He even let me hold over the deal until my finances allowed a purchase. Super friendly and easy to deal with.
The SR-003 is well made and works well even out here in 240 volt Australia. The early sonic results are really promising and I am looking forward to having time to fine tuning the settings.
I can highly recommend Space-Tech Lab and the Rs-003.

Space-Tech Lab. EAT-100 (Easy-Audio-Tester) for every audiophiles, DIYers, technicians and engineers From bonnyan in Nov 27, 2017Nov 27, 2017 From bonnyan
The EAT-100 Audio tester with its Tube tester add-on have helped me in making crucial decisions regarding my audio equipment line up. Tweaking the line up as mentioned below has immediately resulted in discernible improvements in the sound stage. In particular the Audio tester EAT-100 helped with decisions regarding which amplifier to use for driving the tweeters and the midrange and which one to use for the woofers in my bi-amp setup. The Frequency Response test was particularly helpful in finding the low and high frequency build-up and roll off points of each of my amp. My bi-amp consists of a tube amp and a solid state amp. Through the EAT-100 I realized that the tube amplifier has a sharp rise starting at 40 Hz going to 100 Hz and at the other end of the audio spectrum rolls off at 45 to 50 kHz to -3 db levels. I found out that the solid state amp is capable of going lower, in the 20 Hz range and rolls off at 80 to 86 kHz. Knowing this has helped in deciding which amp to use for which drivers. Also since I have super tweeters that go way beyond human hearing range to beyond 150 kHz it’s easier to decide which amp to connect them to for maximum benefit. Before I purchased the EAT-100 it was a trial and error process. Relying on feelings, going back and forth between the two amps never knowing conclusively. This because the quality and type of music played varied making objective decision making difficult. The quality of recordings is usually an unknown quantity – since while they may be FLAC or WAV files it is also the recording quality that plays its part, of which one is usually not aware of making it difficult to know which amp played better highs (treble) and which played better lows (bass).
As for the Tube-tester add-on it was more of a convenience for me as both my amp and pre-amp are of the zero negative feedback type and so I could have tested the tubes via the EAT-100 alone, but the add-on makes it way more convenient due to portability (on a table), faster and safer since I do not like hot swapping tubes (removing them with live current flowing) while they are in my expensive amp or alternately switching the amp on and off for removal/insertion of tubes again and again does not appeal to me. For those whose amps have negative feedback loops I suppose than the tube-tester add-on is a must or a full-fledged standalone tube tester which would be even better but more expensive and unnecessary for the average audiophile.
