I just received 12 of these NOS beauties…
When I bought my amplifiers they already had Tungsrams in them so I know the tone, but the brand new ones are extremely bright,( I can tell the massive tight tone is there though… )
My question, How long does it take for these to ‘burn in’ and settle down a bit in the high frequencies and balance out a bit, warming up perhaps ?
Thanks for any advice!
:D

I do not listen to them in that time...I just listen to them for the first like 4-6 hours to get the idea how they sound and then leave them play as I am doing all other stuff and then listen again after they have these hours on them to do the final if I like them or not.....each batch of the NOS tubes sound different. Or you want to say that Telefunken sounds as Philips ? And why not if they are both 12ax7?

No, we're talking burn in not mfg.

I'm not a big believer in these month long burn in times.

Sorry...if the tube hasn't stabilized and all the crap hasn't been captured by the getter after a day then sumthins up.

Hey, it's just my opinion.
