Hi there,

I'm working on a television show that is casting for vintage items in need of repair. We would love to feature early recorded sound/mechanical music technologies and I’m wondering if you have anything of interest that is in need of repairing like early gramophones or juke box technologies. We're open to everything vintage! Please see the casting notice below:

NOW CASTING – ONTARIO

Do you have a prized possession that’s old and in need of some serious repair?

In a potential new series currently in development, our team of passionate artisans and expert fixers work to bring beloved items back to life.

From a rusting snowmobile to an old-school slot machine, a smashed up guitar to a busted jukebox, our team works to fix it. If you want that treasured item restored to its former glory, get in touch now and tell us your story. If this sounds like your friend, family member, neighbor or co-worker please share!

Applicants should apply online to be considered: therepairshop.castingcrane.com

Only considered applicants will be contacted.

*Admins, if this type of post isn't allowed please let me know and I will remove.

All the best,
Kristen

Interesting show concept.

50 questions...not all are mandatory.

Apologies if I sound suspicious...

My guess like Holmes on Homes, except audio in this case.

Unfortunately there is no information on the website, they are just collecting all your personal information.

Not mine...

As we're early in the casting and development process, we're looking to gage items and interest.

If cast on the show, you would come to our work shop (location TBD) with your antique, vintage, one of a kind item. Our experts would evaluate the damage and then get to work fixing it up. You would return to the work shop to see your item restored to its former glory. We're looking for items with a great story - importance to your family or even to Canadian history.

Thought there might be a good opportunity to showcase vintage audio items - jukebox, gramophone, etc.

It might help, if you mentioned that the name of the Production Company is Cineflix Media Inc.
Just saying...

I recall a member asking about how to ship a rare vntage piece to (Russia, Europe---blablalastan...) it was chunkey and risky... That sounded like an item fitting the desire of this opportunity.
Perhaps the honourable members should/could treat this opportunity with kindness and let the process of doing something great take place.
Hope that's acceptable?

I'm sorry ... but watching cast members replace capacitors would probably rank up there with watching re-runs of 'The Joy of Painting' (Oh .... happy little caps ... here they come!).

Sounds like good scheme to get your vintage stuff free.I would like some names of your "experts".Plus, where and when is the show going to be aired?Who keeps the item after they are restored? If questions cannot be answered, this obviously commercial ad should be taken down by administration.
