Does anyone have experience ordering CDs from an outfit called Zoverstocks (or any other vendor in the UK for that matter) ?

My main concern is the cost of shipping and customs issues.

Regularly order from the US and have it down to a science, but never dealt with stuff from the UK.

Thanks.

I have ordered from other labels and artists. Twisted Music and SFA with no trouble and I believe postage was less than US

Ordered the complete Charlie Parker on Dial 4-cd set off of Amazon and it was shipped from a UK (London) vendor. It was (I thought) quite reasonable.

But... turned out that the box set had 2 CD #3s and no CD #2 (if I remember correctly). So the vendor asked to return it and the least expensive shipping costs to do so was $60 CAD for me. So unless you have a commercial account, I'm not so sure about the returns.

All ended up okay. The vendor sent me a complete new box set and after hearing the return costs never asked for it back.

I've been buying records, CDs, and other goodies from the UK for many years (eBay UK is great). Shipping by Royal Post is usually faster and cheaper than getting items from the US. For some reason I've found packages from the UK to take longer than usual this year, but that's not the norm.

I've been buying classical CD's from Presto Classical for the last few months and I an very pleased by their pricing, selection and service.

I have never had any shipping or customs issues except that they occasionally run out of stock of popular CD's and there will be a bit of a delay while they re-stock. Here is a link:

UK vendors through Amazon have been really great in my experience. I don't have experience with any outside of Amazon. Shipping is generally quick.

I have dozens of CDs ordered from Rarewaves-CA and they can be delivered almost as fast as the Ontario based Amazon. Royal Air mail has a super service and you wont be robbed by UPS/FedEx US import gimmicks.

A+

All of my orders were through amazon.ca. Several were reasonably quick, but one took 4 months to get here by Royal Mail/Canada Post duo. Orders from Switzerland were much faster.

I've ordered vinyl from Juno Records in Britain as well as other vendors. Never a problem. The Royal Mail is faster and cheaper than USPS, too.

I just want to add here that when you can buy direct from the artist, regardless of location, it's good thing.

It is, but stay on top of it. The artist might not have his sh!t together enough to remember to put your record in the mail. I speak from experience.
