After a long wait my Reference Mark III was delivered today. It has the optional custom made platter. I had Jean install a JMW 12" 3D arm and an Audio Technica AT-150MLX.
I also got the rubber/marble/acrillyc materials that the table sits on. Having owned a "Classic" Lenco before , I was totally amazed at the level of performance this new table is
capable of. It has incredible dynamics, ultra quiet background as well as superb bass reproduction. My vinyl has never sounded so good. I am very impressed with this outstanding
machine. The platter and deck is black and the plinth is dark gray pebble finish and looks awesome on my wall-mounted shelf.

Best Regards
Igor

Hi Toad Hall,

I can't seem to be able to do it, but I'm sure you can see it on Jean's website. Will take pics and post to my Zetaguser Gallery soon.

Best Regards
Igor

I believe he dropped by my place with a replacement platter for my Ultimate Lenco on the way to dropping off your ‘table. I had a peak at it in the back of his van before he took off - looks really cool!

I owned a Reference (original then upgraded to MkII) before my current Ultimate. Jean makes amazing ‘tables! I’ve had my Ultimate for around 6 months now - first with a Reed 3P and now with a Durant Kairos. Just incredible, state of the art performance!

And beautiful too:

Jean is an awesome guy !!
Ive had Jean's tables for years now, here is a pic of my Ultimate, the actual first one he ever made. Paired with the Ikeda/Ikeda combo, it has it all.

I think mine may have been his third or fourth Ultimate build ;)

What is that slab of marble resting underneath?

Hey Guys,
Thanks for chiming in about you amazing Jean Nantais Lenco's. Glad to hear from you. My cart and tonearm wires aren't broken in yet, but it still impresses the heck out of me.

I took some pics this AM, but my gallery isn't fully functional yet so I can't upload them. Will let you know when they're up.

Best Regards
Igor

This is Jean's custom made platform: Its a layer of acrylic, then marble and a specific type of rubber underneath the marble.
I believe Igor opted for one as well in reading his initial post.

One more Jean Nantais recommendation for you guys is to get a Monarchy Audio Regenerator (see pic). Its not so much for the clean power, but rather the stable voltage it provides which translates to even more stable speed and timing and i use it only for the Ultimate and the secondary phono stage i have. Jean knows his Lencos and his recommendations and tips are definitely worthwhile.

Thanks for the info. Yes Jean has recommended those two pieces to me but I haven't bitten yet - probably will at some point

I’m sure all of Jean’s ‘tables sound great - but I can definitely say that as good as the Reference II was, the Ultimate is even better! So solid, sure-handed and BIG!!

Ugh! All this talk is making my JNLenco feel like it needs an upgrade.

Can you let me know. Which Lenco model is used in Jean Nantais upgrades?
Thanks
