I bought one of these 1TB shockproof USB drives for $70 from Amazon for my bedroom system. The listening position is compromised but it still serves the purpose of me being able to listen to my music library in the bedroom and watch blurays as well with much better sound than the speakers from the display.

Nice receiver...looks like an RX-V1400... lots of power on tap for a bedroom setup. :)

I like!

Thanks :D Its an RX-V1500 and it wasn't doing anything so I brought it back to life. The PSB Alpha Mites were also collecting dust on a shelf. I bought a used Energy XL-S8 to give some sorely missed bass. It will remain a 2.1 system as I promised my better half that there will be no surrounds in the bedroom. Actually the whole thing is used except for the Vizio display that I purchased new over 10 years ago. Now looking for a Yamaha KX-38X, KX39X series cassette deck to add so that I can play the albums I've recorded to cassette.

Err, my impression - it's nice to have enough space in a bedroom for all that lot!

Having understanding wives is critical. We recently moved a set of towers into the bedroom. Only comment? "They really sound great" .......niiiiice!

So when she tells me we are going to visit friends for a week in PEI and all I can do is sit around for 8 days (I don't "do" sitting around very well), I shut up and smile

Glad you are enjoying the journey!

Awesome bedroom system, very nice. I think sometimes folks with big rigs (self included) forget that secondary systems do not have to break the bank to be very enjoyable.

I have maybe $80K in my main system which is for music 99% of the time and TV and Bluray 1% of the time.

My second system used mostly by my wife for TV and for both of us for kitchen music during meals, cost me $1500, sounds really great and gets heavy use as most of our living is upstairs with that system. Similar to your bedroom system.

The big rig is downstairs and used mostly by me and exclusively for music, except for that 1% when I break down and let my wife watch the Survivor reality show, or some movie rental. Not much of a TV person myself, 45 hardcore years of collecting music and tweaking gear to play it on.

I bought one of those 1 Tb shockproof drives couple years ago as my traveling music library
has worked with no issues in some rather inhospitable environments
high marks -a few failed before..nothing like losing 1 Tb of music 6 months away from home!
