Been searching for months on where those would be available here. I see them in magazine ads, but they are impossible to be found except UK and Australia...

Yamaha Canada has stock. They are $19K MSRP with the matching stands.

Thanks. Wow, pricey, but mostly, where to audition them? THAT is the question....

Yes, I could do this, but right now I am mostly curious. 19K is of course a lot of money, but if the quality/price ratio is anything like their AS series amplifiers, they might compare to speakers that cost much more. Talk about technology and that vintage vibe...

I will give Yamaha a call to find out if they expect to have the NS-5000 at dealers in Montreal anytime soon. Maybe in the future I could eventually partner those with my AS3000 amp....

Thanks again!

That’s a great amp. I have the AS-2100 in one of my systems with Magnepan.7 . Pairs nicely with the power hungry Magnepan. Those Yamaha speakers sure are beautiful. Advance Electronics in Winnipeg had these on demo a while ago but unfortunately I missed out . Would love to hear them. I’ll bet they sound every bit as good as they look.

I heard the NS-5000 at TAVES 2016 in the sweet spot and remember the sound as very fast with impressive clarity. Not a warm sound. I really liked them but they're not cheap. I think they were driven at TAVES by a new-ish for 2016 Yamaha integrated.

I think they were demoed at the Montreal Salon back in March. Yamaha was the last room I visited before leaving, by then I was "listened out", they didn't impress me. Now that I know what they go for, I'm even less impressed. The new entry level Magicos were a revelation at $13k.
