Hello from B.C.

I am an Oracle Delphi fan and have hada mk.1 mine for many years.
The tonearm is a Lurne 2 with Dynavector xx2 mk2 phono cartridge.
I guess this would be a long distance club, but count me in.

Maybe the mods can create a forum heading just for Oracle tables.

Tom that's a great idea .
I have yet to hear mine ,the table I bought didn't have an arm board so I have been side tracked on a new purchase of a taig lathe to make one out of Delrin .
Just got a platter mat from a fellow cam member , it's in an orgianal box very sticky !
I was ready to buy the hard mat but worked slowed down and it's pricey at around 400 CDN .
Great to hear from you guys ,
I'm Shawn from Windsor

Hi Shawn
I own a Delphi MK2 with the counter weight accessory .I bought many years ago but I do remember it WAS NOT cheap .
Anyway mine needed an appropriate armboard as well for Rega RB-1000 .So I ended up putting aside and it's boxed ever since.
I also want to be in the group.
Let us know your DIY arm board progress.
Regards
George

Well you can count me in..

I little history on my Delphi ownership.

I have always had a Delphi and had two for several years.
My first was a MKI bought in 1983.
I have had a MKIi upgraded to the MKIV and a full out MKIV with SMEIV arm.
Right now have a recently purchased MKI in beautiful original condition.
It has a SAEC 407/23 arm on it which in itself is a marvel.
I have always maintained my Oracles and have the Oracle Maintenance Kit kicking
around for the spare parts it provides and maintenace supplies like bearing oil etc.

PM me for my e-mail address to keep in touch.

I'm a long term Oracle owner, with a Mk1 that I recently upgraded to Mk6 specs. Oracle is still in business in Sherbrooke, still making tables, parts, accessories, upgrades and maintenance kits (and Rega armboards). They are very helpful and respond to emails fairly fast. Pretty much everything you need for a Delphi for maint is in the maint kit.

I love talking about Delphis, but for bit and pieces, might as well go to the source.

I run an Oracle in a secondary system.

I first bought a Mk2 with a Mission 774 and Dynavector Ruby 17R cartridge from Straight Gain Electronics on Elm St Toronto. I had it updated to Mk4 (ish) and sold it. I now have a MkV (stock) with an Alphason HR100 MSC tonearm. I have no plans for further upgrades as this table get vwery limited play.

IMHO, everyone should own an Oracle and a Linn in their lifetime. It may end up being your cup of tea, but you will sure learn about your table preferences.

Sounds like most of you have your tables dialed in . I'm excited to hear mine but am enjoying working on it as well .
I took some pictures of prototype Delrin arm board and feet that I made . Also have to check main bearing for leaks as I had to make a new gasket (I used liquid gasket ) I'm uncertain if i measured the hole location for the tonearm correctly , have to bring it in to my dealer . Does anyone have or need parts ?
Any suggestions for oil besides what Oracle sells ? I do plan on ordering a kit in the near future , from what I have read sewing machine oil is a good substitute .

The current design uses the tonearm mounting holes to sandwich the sub chassis . I used a provided lay out ruler and ended up on center . Most tables I see have arm offset .

Peter Chiu at Straight Gain, that takes me back! I bought my Oracle Alexandre MK II from him. I now have a Delphi MK II, originally with an FR64-fx tonearm, now running an SME-V. At some point, when my back account is ready, I'm going to sell both, and get a current Delphi....

Cheers, Dave

The purpose of the offset hole was so that if you wanted to mount a different arm with different geometry, you could loosen the clamping bolts and rotate the armboard to achieve the correct mounting distance. I still have the original table I bought new in 1982. Sold it in the late 80's and then bought it back about 4 years later for 350.00. Still have the original box and manuals as well as the Oracle carbon fiber cleaning brush.

Any light sewing machine oil will do the job nicely. If your bearing is leaking, give Oracle a call, they can send you a replacement.
