Trying to simplify things and was looking to replace preamp+power amp with an integrated.

My first choice would be a Rega Osiris but used ones are pretty scarce.

What are the makes and models that you would be looking at?

Thanks.

P.S. I really like the looks of the Mark Levinson integrateds. Saw a Krell and was not moved.

So, you are going to buy on looks and not performance?

not sure what you consider as high end but I recently purchased a Yamaha s2100. It is the most natural and balanced sound I have had in many configurations. I never thought I would move from tubes but do prefer this.

Tube or Solid State? Not sure if looks are most important.

I've recently been very impressed with Musical Fidelity! Good value and really nice sound.

I've always been impressed with integrateds from Hegel. They have several.options at multiple price points. Really outstanding. Audia Flight are also very good. Hand made Italian electronics. One other contender would be the Sugden A21se. Limited power with this one but if you have relatively efficient speakers this one is a contender.

Two integrated amps that I use and own in secondary systems.

Tube - Cary SLI-80 F1
SS - Jeff Rowland Concentra

Solid state (around 200 watts/ch.) as in my effort to simplify I am trying to get away from tubes.

200 watts will limit your choice. The Rowland Concentra is rated at 150w

Since I had Dan Santoni (DTS Audio) tune up my YBA Integre DT - I am very happy with the way it sounds (even though it might be considered "vintage" now)
Have to ask what speakers you will be using it with and also how big the room is??
Both factor into the decision and recommendations IMHO.

Love my Unison Research integrated

Tubes in the pre, SS amp side.

Inviting, easy to listen to, not tiring in the least.

We must have been typing at the same time - If you are looking for 200 watts then forget the Integre DT and I have no experience with any integrated with that watt capacity................
