Under $2000 and my receiver is Anthem MRX 720.

Looking for 7.1 and my room size is 12 x 20 ft

I have these choices
-Klipsch R-28F, RP-250C, R-14S
-Polk RTI A9, and center with bipole
-Revel Concerta F12, S12, C12

Thanks in advance

Hi-Fi speakers like the ones you mentioned won't work very well, they generally lack the dynamics and slam that movies need. You'll be struggling to hear quiet dialog, then its a wall of shrillness when the action starts that will drive people out the room.

Check out http://www.diysoundgroup.com . Most of the builds and discussion on the DIY speakers and subs section of the AVS forum are for these kits. The equivalent speakers from JTR, JBL, QSC etc. cost many more times the price.

The DIYSG stuff is Pro-audio based but optimized for home use rather than large venue.

Of those particular models, the Revel would be my choice. You don't mention a sub - do you already have one or are you looking for that as well? For movies, a good sub is critical, it also helps you in selecting your other speakers as you can go for quality rather than trying to find something that will push out some bass but sounds crap otherwise.

Based on your room size, I wouldn't go with loudspeakers (7) that will clutter your space but rather something small like satellites. I would also go with two 10 or 12 inch subs if you can squeeze it into your budget. seven small speakers will more than fill your theater unless you wish to compete with SPLs found at your local cinema.

Visions.ca has Definitive Technology BP10B and smaller BP8B on sale as they are discontinued after 20-30 years of production. I purchased a pair as I was curious. Not every ones cup of tea for two channel but for home theater supported with center channel and good subs you would have really great performance for the price. 2 sets of BP10B for front and backs ($698.00/pair X 2) with the center channel 2002 ($345.00) also on sale at Visions. for $1748.00 plus tax you will be hard pressed to find better in my opinion. This new with 5 year warranty. They have a longer than normal break in and sound pretty bad right out of box but get better with use. The Polk RTI A9 set up would be good (I own RTI A7 and RTI A3) at Best Buy sale prices. Also Klipsch reference RF-280 based set up, personally would not get the lower Klipsch line you mention. I think some of these entry level offerings are better than many give them credit for.

Thanks everyone

Just got the Revel speakers.

Sounds awesome!!! But I have to turn on the volume pretty high to get it loud..

Another question.... is amplication in MRX 720 enought to drive all 7 channels?

Front F12
Center C12
Surround S12
Back JBL Loft 20

Or is it better to get 3ch amp?

Thanks

Im running Cambridge audio Aero 2 with the BMR as two channel, and they are good. I know they have home theatre packages too which are quite well regarded. May be worth a listen if you can. The BMR has an excellent natural coherence to the driver. I believe it is the Minx system that uses BMR drivers as satellites.

the Mrx will drive them right up to a point of multichannel instant dynamics ,where like every reciever it will fall on its face...follow the suggestion of the two subs and cut off some of the bottom end on the floorstanders and it might hold up...hard to say, there is only so much power in the power supply of any given receiver...my two cents

If your room and amplifier can support them, excellent HT. http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/ ... io-100-v3/

Or version two, for about 1200.

Or the smaller models, depending on room. However I would start considering a sub to compliment them, HT needs good bass.

Taking a bit of a twist, there are some killer pro audio speakers that do great with HT.

The dude is in Sri Lanka. Methinks you waste your time making suggestions to him.
