Hello out there to all...
After weeks of trying to figure out my audio issues (well not that many) between bouts of tinitus flare ups and life i figured my recently aquired Bryston 3bst was one of the culprits.
One channel seemed weak (right) for quite some time.
My buddy said it sounded ok but i wasn't having it. Upon turning up the volume to say 12 o'clock the channel would get full again. This finally became too frequent to just be a glitch.
I did the ol switcharoo on the inputs to see if it was the preamp but nope..definetely the amp.
I also noticed the left side clip lights but not the right.

Well enough was enough so with enough gas in the truck it was off to Brystonland. The magical place from whence comes wonderful pieces of gear. The kind i had ( i thought to myself) that purr like cats and roar like lions.
Well..kind of..on a good day!

Needless to say traffic sucked.
From Toronto it was a 1 1/2 hour cruise. Thank God for GPS.
I arrived just before the days closing.
I was greeted very friendly by receptionist and was asked to wait for Mike. Oh yes and would i like a coffee. Wow it truly was a magical place.
Did not take long but Mike was occupied and Ken attended.
I briefly explained my dilemma and a work order was produced.
Oh yes almost forgot...was it under warranty? Aaahhhhh the million dollar question. I kind of held my breath as it was purchased here in Camland. (Also an interesting place).
Ken returned after checking his files and........
Yup .
Yaaaay!
I then purchased a packaging kit and was told that shipping back to me would be pro bono. Holy smokes!
Well at this point i was confident i was at the right place.
It was closing time and the receptionist asked if i would like another coffee for the trip home? Yes Ma'am thank you and off i went on my way home.
Geeze i thought (on the way home)...why the heck didn't i do this weeks ago. I guess there is a time and place for everything and this voyage was most definitely worth the drive to Peterborough.
Cheers!

There are numerous threads here on Bryston’s legendary customer service. I have only had a single instance of a repair being required by Bryson, but I found their service quality was top notch also.

Similar experience, drove to Peterborough from Oakville. I left in the morning and got there around noon. I dropped off the equipment, asked where a couple of good places to eat were. With directions and recommendations in hand, I went off to lunch and had a great meal. A few weeks later everything was ready.

A stop at the Orono bakery is always a must when making that trip from Toronto.

Make a day of it. If you golf (and it's not winter), add a round at the incredible Kawartha Golf Club, designed by Canadian legend Stanley Thompson.

Wow .. to bad I don't like Bryston products, as that is amazing customer service, which is hard to find these days.

The only electronics I will buy are Bryston products. They have earned my business.

Did you notice that the Bryston logo/sign on the door was held in place with "those damned Canadian security screws"?

Americans don't know what to do with them. Here, in Canada, we call them 'Robertson'.

(The running gag, back in the day, was that Brystons were sealed with security screws, but no..they were just Robertson screws. This was even mentioned in more than one published review)

Directions from T-O are dead simple.

Drive east out the 401
turn left onto the 115..which turns into 7.
Drive to Peterborough, turn off at Ashburnham.
take a right at the stop sign on Neal drive.
Drive half a block and look on your left. That's Bryston.

First line I’m thinking WTF is a Canadian security screw?

Second line I spit my drink up laughing!

Nice one

Bryston is one of those companies you only hear good things about. The price tag warrants the warranty and service you get it seems.

I had a similar problem with my recently purchased 3bst. I live 2 minutes away from bryston so no big deal getting there, but my warranty expired Oct 30th. I dropped it off Monday morning. Wednesday morning I got a call saying it was ready to go, no charge! Thank you Bryston.

That's interesting.
Can you tell me what repair they did and did it work.

Hi again all...
Well i got a call from Bryston this morning and they did the necessary repair. Turns out it was a bad solder on a connection at the mono/bridged switch.
Will be here by tomorrow morning. Yaay! Just in time for Xmas.
Gotta love Bryston...
