I have a Marantz 2500 that needs some work and live in central Toronto. Any tips on good shops would be welcome. Thanks, Dwight

Check Ontario Audio/Video Service in Brampton, it is recommended as a repair service by D+M Canada who is the distributor for Marantz now. Apparently they bought the old parts inventory and do warranty repairs now, but I don't know if they can service the older equipment properly.

Hi, you might want to try Tom Mcartney -905-301-3074, he did some work on my vintage mcintosh unit, a very smart man and definitely knows his stuff, works from his house so rates are a bit better. He was recommended from another topic here on CAM and since then I wont look for anyone else to do upgrades, repairs or services. So call him up and ask if he repairs that specific component .

Ring Audio are pretty good too. They had worked on my Yamaha CR1020. Good work great price.

Any decision yet? I have a Marantz 150 tuner that needs some TLC and would like to know of a reputable repair shop in the GTA, preferably in the west end. Would like to know where vintage Marantz units are being serviced by knowledgeable shops with good results.

Another thumbs up for Drago. drago1146@hotmail.com
He did my Sansui 9090 and my Yamaha CR-1020.
He is good, and he is fast.

Cheers,
Alec

BKtheking (Brad King) is amazing and is in Ottawa. A bit of a distance but you definitley will be happy with the high quality work and value. Highly recommended.

I believe Tom used to work for Marantz, back in the day. He repaired an old Pioneer receiver for me.

It's looking like Ring due to their proximity. The thing weighs 100 lbs! The original Marantz dealer just a block away closed some time ago. Ring is west of Broadview around Queen. No feedback on Radio Service Lab or Bay Bloor

Stereo King at Dundas and Runnymede. The guy *loves* the vintage Marantz, and was the former tech for Fairview during the 70's.

Ring is EAST of Broadview and south of Queen. It's just north of Lakeshore Ave on Carlaw ave

17 Carlaw Avenue, Toronto, ON M4M 2R7
(416) 693-7464

Outside of Ring Audio the east end is pretty bare for options for people who do not drive and can't just whip out to Mississauga or Etobicoke. If I had the option (don't drive and live in east end Beaches area)I would go to Drago based solely on reputation.

I look forward to your feedback on Ring Audio, as I have a couple pieces that could use some work.
