Can anyone tell me anything about these? They look really nice.
They are Scott sp-310 weigh about 55 lbs each! 5-150 watts.
Just wondering if they are audiophile quality, or just junk, or maybe somewhere in between.
Any help is appreciated.

low end trying to look higher end is what they are. Too many drivers, low quality tweeters, mids and woofers. The cabinets might be well braced internally for all I know, but I doubt it. These speakers would be very difficult to sell so listen to them for yourself to see if they are good enough. Your woofer surrounds have to be replaced as well.

H. H. Scott was a great name in audio in the 1950s and early 60s, known for electronics -- amps, preamps, and especially receivers and tuners. The Scott name and trade mark was later sold to a mass marketer and slapped on all kinds of economy-priced gear.

Two things would keep me clear of the speaker in the photo. One, the number of drivers. It takes seriously good design to integrate more than two drivers seamlessly, and this box has five. Second, the Scott name on a speaker.

Oh, and wattage used as a speaker specification, although very common, is unfortunately meaningless.

@OP, if you own and like these speakers, I'm sorry to have to say they are probably not high-quality. But I haven't heard them and have no way to know what they actually sound like, beyond guessing. If you enjoy them, nobody can tell you they're without value.

Thanks guys, no I don't own them, they just showed up on kijiji for $100, and thought they looked interesting, they said I can see them tomorrow if I want, but maybe I'll pass.

Probably be ok if your throwing something together for the kids...or a garage system. wouldn't pay 100 bucks though, maybe 50 or 60 if they didn't need a re-foam.

Another example where more is spent on cosmetics than the all important sound quality.

Specs stamped on the the front cabinets, one cap as crossover, waiting to see who will be first to put meters inside speakers.

Sadly, lots of people use their eyes when buying audio and manufacturers know it.

So I cam across these Scotts SP440 with matching audio rack for $25.
If the speakers are junk at least I have a cabinet for the garage :)
