I just came across this ad and it looks very suspicious to me:
http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/ ... ton-4bsst/
The guy just joined CAM today and he is only willing to sell to CAM'ers with positive feedback
Also look at the item, price and the description...
I hope I am wrong, but something tells me it smells fishy.

If you have any doubts, you should notify the mods with your concern. Nuff said.

So what exactly is wrong? Wouldn't you want to sell to people with positive feedback? He offers local pick up - where is the problem?

I already sent the notification. I have no interest in the item, just trying to warn people of the potential problem.

I can't guarantee there is a problem, however the ad looks very suspicious to me and as I said, I hope I am wrong. And I also hope some poor sucker is not going to get hurt.

+1 somebody local could be getting quite the deal... but I'd open the box and look inside first if ya know what I mean.

I hope it is someone local, because I sure would not send any money to the ad like this.

I thought Bryston offered a 20 year warranty? It's almost to good to be true.

I doubt very much that the seller would let anyone open the box until he had payment in hand. But then again, anyone interested in the amp that's OK with the asking price would buy it anyway after a quick peek inside the box so it shouldn't be an issue. But if you were the seller and a would-be buyer asked if you'd open the box and you did and then he offers you $1500.00, you'd be pissed.

But the ad is slightly suspicious because the seller just joined CAM today and he received 3 of the same amps' as a "gift" from a dealer and how often does something like that happen. If you're full-on paranoid (like me  ), then you might think those boxes have concrete blocks inside, a la the 'white van scam'.

Buyer beware. And be afraid....very afraid. 8)

Price for new is $5K (list)

How much extra for the 5 year extension on the warranty?
