I only have one. I would like a slightly larger, more acoustically adept room.

1 - that Maggies were made built in with anti-cat scratching technology. I'd own 1.6's forever.

2 - that my basement room was portable - I'd move it to my next home/condo with those 1.6's in tow. Having taken the time to treat the space with panels and a few traps, it is an excellent audio retreat, complete with pool table, bathroom and fridge.

I think I have only 2 wishes in the end!

That’s funny – I just had a conversation with another member about cats and Maggies!

My wish would be that all manufactures follow set standards for displaying the specifications of their products. There are way too many variables that is not only confusing to the consumer, it is also misleading.

Seriously, I LOVED those speakers and owned them for a year. But I also love our 3 cats (and my family vastly prioritizes them over "my" speakers!).

In the end I could not continue to see the 2 younger cats climbing and perching atop the Maggies. It felt like leaving a Ferrari out in the snow to me.

I sold them along to a very happy Cammer (with documented pics of the damage to the cloth - minor at the time), and moved to other audio satisfactions - almost. I still recall well the sound of panels and high powered amps on certain vocal cuts.

Never tried Maggies - they are a speaker that I am interested in but do have my concerns with the little furry 4 legged boss of the house. Many, many years ago (and different cats) I withdrew on a deal with a pair of Vandersteen 2C’s for the very same reason. Love my audio, but my cat is fricken awesome!! Willing to make certain sacrifices for her sake.

My Henri Richard is the greatest old cat in the world. His deceased brother, Maurice, was entrusted to the vet for dental care and died after the operation despite all the tests done prior to ascertain if the anesthesia would not be is downfall: it was.

Wow, that’s sad – so sorry to hear about that. Apologies for taking the tread off topic although I am sure cat proof speakers are on many wish lists.

1 - That DSD would have become mainstream
2 - That more people were into audio where I live
3 - That cables didn't make a difference and gear was at its full potential with regular ol cables

1. That my hearing was better.

2. That I could have a dedicated audio room.

3. That I had someone to listen to music with that appreciated it.

Me too. Since I moved out here to the desert last year I've had to enjoy the hobby on my own for the most part. But this is a trend that's been going on for several years before I left Florida; fewer and fewer audio compadres to hang out with to audition upgrades etc. But I did meet a very nice retired physician from A'goN a few months ago; I sold him some NOS R2R tapes and he showed me around his place and his system but we didn't sit down for a listening session. Hopefully we'll get around to that in the near-future; he's offered to let me use his DIY ultrasonic RCM.

My other 2 wishes would be:

~ To get my listening room to be fully acoustically compliant without a lot of time and $$$ invested. Hah!

~ To finally get off the upgrade merry-go-round and just be happy with what I have! So much easier said than done.....
