I meant that I have large speakers if I need a bass fix. Deep bass isn't my biggest concern with the single driver speaker.

Technically the quad esl63 has no crossover, not quite what you’re thinking though.

They look very impressive!

After decades of owning various panels I think I'm done with them for now.

yes, even the small stand mount "Ariadne" was like pioneering design in enclosure which resonate to give the bulk of the music all fundamentals with single driver in not sealed enclosure with no crossover...Japanese hand made paper, cotton wound pure copper wiring and ball bearing at corners....well...too ahead of time.

If you can build enclosures or have them made for you this driver has been well received > I spent a few nights listening to them in a large vented box . They are very efficient and dynamic .

Just some info you may want to hear from someone who has no vested interest one way or the other on the subject of coaxial speakers.
The man is all credentials by the way.

How are the Omegas for low level listening?

Low level listening is excellent on my Omega SAMs which is how I listen most of the time. They maintain their clarity and detail.

Stuff I have owned/heard that I would recommend:

Any speaker using the Visaton b200 - Omega 8, DIY etc.
Omega Super 3

Stuff I have not heard, but know folks who have enjoyed them:

Unity Audio
Planet_10 - BC based, produces interesting speakers there using single drivers from Mark Audio and others - Fonkens etc
Any Omega - I heard the Super 3's and enjoyed them in my own home - and trust that Louis does a great job on his other other designs too

I am currently using DIY single driver speakers using the Tang Band 5W-2143.

I just built a pair of rear loaded horns...using FOSTEX FE126En drivers.

Fun to build, amazing sound from a small full frequency driver.
Next project will be a small sub to supplement the low end.

Thanx for looking.
Graham

I've heard a few Omegas, the best ones IMO have the RS5.

One of the best drivers (at a relatively reasonable price) is the Jordan Eikona 2...

What about Lowther speakers or Coral Beta 8 If your lucky enough to find them.
I have had three various pairs of Beta 8 drivers and I swore by them till I got a pair of Lowther pm2a in Medlion 2 cabinets.
I will never !ook back.
Speed. Slam dynamic...with 12 watts is wonderful.

I love mine as well, don't know how I could've done better for my money. Was just trying to stay in what I thought was the thread intention.

Understood. I just wanted to clarify the nature of the beast. I was a crossoverless devotee for a long time, I know the special magic that full range drivers can have. It's always limited at the frequency extremes, but what you do get is great, and you can use flea watt amps, which by itself is almost worth the price of admission.
