ADS L200 if you can find them, I have the Minimus 7's and think they're great for their size...I refinished one of them in wood, looks really sharp...just gotta do the other one now.

I've had the ADS 200B that we used in proffessional applications
years ago.
They are a 4 ohm load and I used to use them for back of couch
speakers worked very well.

This is timely. A friend was looking for some speakers that were small and cheap emphasis on cheap and sounded ok.
I thought of the Minimus 7, but to the best of my knowledge they have been replaced.
Is the Centrios speaker the same as the Minimus?

I have the Mirage AVS-200 speakers, which were highly reviewed at the time.

That was going to be my vote as well......

Altec Lansing also used to make a nice small monitor before they went strictly into computer audio.....

I was pretty impressed with some Paradigm Micros that I picked up at a yard sale last year. I haven't had the chance to compare them head-to-head with much else of a similar size but they certainly pleased me with what they were able to do.

I believe Totem Mites would be close as well sizewise(maybe a bit bigger) but probably a fair bit more budgetwise.

Cheers

These sound interesting, but have not tried them. Perhaps someone on CAM has experience?

for $40 per pair? nothing out there
the magic is in the tweeter radio shack put into the minimus 7 and minimus 77

add the crossover upgrade (DIY or sold on ebay) and there is nothing to touch these two models in the pricerange.
all the other suggestions will provide info on speakers somewhat more expensive with similar performance in the mid to upper range frequencies.
limitation of the minimus 7 and 77...... cannot provide the bass extension due to their smaller cabinet size and woofer size

This upgrade ?

Do you think that is worth the asking price + shipping ?

Is there anybody in the Toronto area who does the Minimus upgrade or who has an upgrade kit they are willing to sell?

For my lady I got a pair of Paradigm speakers, part of their Cinema series, to go with her little Sony compact receiver. They are no bigger then the Minimus 7 and in combination with an 8" power sub by Energy ($70-, Craigslist) does a great job at filling her small condo with great music.

Such small "monitors" are easily available these days and are heads above the old #7's.
