They might the best small speaker for my tastes I've enjoyed in decades of switching up speakers. The AMT is incredible with the crossover point down @ 700 Hz and the bass is warm and dynamic. Hopefully I can find an old pair of Monitor + one of these days.

Six pairs of speakers...and only one pair of ears. Seems excessive to me.

I found true love with my Dynaudio C1's Sig.
Kept my Paradigm Studio 20 and 40 V2 for TV. And thats about it!

James, how did you like the Volent VL2?
I had those a few years back. Good bass for standmounts I thought!

I didn't know about this thread. Like other addicts, it makes me feel so much better that I'm not alone. Now I can email a link to my friends and relations who think I'm batshit crazy.

I should clarify: Of the 5 sets of speakers I have, 4 are in operation. The watson lab model 7 was purchased for parts in the event some drivers on the model 10 fail -- they are 40 years old and parts are impossible to source.

I'm not the example you are looking for.

We currently have 10 pairs of speakers in our home.

2 pairs on the main floor (Wife's pair & 1 pair connected to the computer)
3 pairs upstairs (2 pairs are part of 2 mini systems)
1 pair in the basement (my main stereo pair)
4 pairs in the basement as part of the home theatre along with centre channel and 2 subs.

They sure add up.

Superb speaker with Devialet and a great value overall. I've got a weak spot for products that use the Italian ATD woofers, from Magico to Chario. Interesting side note, the guy I bought them from was a Dynaudio dealer that replaced his original C1's with the VL-2.
