Classical Radio +. Originally, I suggested Abacus classical, which is an okay choice, the CR+ app, is free and advertises over 100 choices. Your original post mentioned the Greek station and that’s included in their line up amongst many others. There is also an app for jazz music, if you are so inclined. Accessing the menu bar, will enable you to adjust your streaming speed. I’ve been using this app for a few years now and it allows samples of most if not all classical music choices. You will recognize the app by a stern looking Beethoven’s picture.

Not an audiophile stream, but I've always liked the music on Ancient.FM, which is a Canadian entity, I think. I haven't tested it, but I think the link to the stream is here:

http://5.152.208.98:8058/

If not, you can access the music from the website using the various streaming options they provide. Great stuff for a sleepy Sunday morning. :)

http://www.ancientfm.com/

edit: the stream link above seems to provide the Shoutcast status only. Is there a way to access the stream directly through a URL? My phone doesn't support any of the streaming options listed on the main page.

I have just discovered a great source for free streaming classical and baroque music that I would like to share with those that may not know about this site.

Barely any talk, just great music broadcast from Greece. The organization is user sponsored through donations so there are no adds. Makes the current CBC look like the government **** heads they are.

The music is broadcast in MPEG at 320 kb/s and sounds great to my ears.

Here is a link to the main web site, "The Audiophile Stream Network":

https://stream.psychomed.gr/

Here is a direct link to the classical stream:

Here is a direct link to the baroque stream:

http://8.38.78.173:8045/stream

Let me know what you think.

i had just discovered those last weekend!

Thanks Ripblade.

The stream (URL) you provided works. Have you tried foobar ?

I see that. It helps if you don't try to open the link in your browser....

I'm going to have to try that. I wonder if there'll be fewer glitches in the stream using ethernet instead of wi-fi?

would all depend on the quality of the wifi connection I'd assume.

This is not classical, but here is a 320 kb/s jazz station run by enthusiasts:
