I wish I could make it. The last two weekends were a go. Not this one.

Don’t worry , we’ll put any leftovers that the dog won’t eat in the freezer for the next time

OK, still happeing Sunday, no ice in the forecast,
Chairs welcome, any classical music fans need to bring some, just mostly classic rock on hand. I did find my copy of Take 5 for the high brow jazz fans, but thats only 4 minutes long.

Sorry, can't make it. Roofers are coming day late :-(

If anyone wants to hear these and can help with transportation from Mississauga, let me know. They won't fit in my current car. Open baffle prototype, finished, just needs paint. Dipole bass 2 x Eminence 15" Alphas, Peerless mids, 4 bipolar tweeters Vifa. Pipes on the back filled with sand to reduce baffle vibration and bass cancelation. Runs with MiniDSP 2 way and 2 amps. Bass DSP output run on old Bryston 3B, high runs on basic old Marantz receiver. Further passive crossover to separate bass and sub bass and mids and tweeters.

Very nice full range speaker, high power handling, Low extension down to 30Hz (in room) equalized with DSP.

Budget was $500 + Mini DSP and amps. Goal was to have fun and see if I can build something that will resemble Maggies sound. According to all that hear them it was a success. I had lot of fun building these.

Note to all who build with Eminence Alpha woofers, these driver need an extremely long break-in, don't give up, give them reasonably loud 30 Hz for a week or so (with breaks not to overheat the coils). They will soften up and go much lower then specs. Also anti-vibration pad applied to basket legs and felt on inside of basked legs to reduce early reflections helps a lot.

This pair might be for sale at or near cost, to make space for new prototype. PM for details.

I'm hoping to bring a new DAC
24 bit/192 khz USB / SPDIF input
8 x 1704 K dac chips
discrete jfet/fet balanced output analog stage, shunt regulation

and new tweeters for the shop monitors

I have a phono stage and turntable under renovation for hopefully a 2019 meet,

if you have something you'd like to bring and demonstrate , please do so

Fell free to bring anything you’d like to demo.
Shop speakers are 4 ohm /100db/1watt so most amps can drive them.
