I received my Zerostat 3 gun and I am happy with the purchase. I just have a couple of questions about its operation. I have read that if you squeeze too hard you will hear a click. The gun is then said to ground out the charge and the gun won't be as effective. When I squeeze the trigger it barely has to move (less than 1/3 of an inch) before it clicks. Am I pressing too hard? Also, if I remove the tip with the bulb will I then not have the unit ground when it clicks? If the bulb is there to ground the gun, perhaps removing it (with the tip) will prevent this.

Once again, thank you for the gun and the excellent price.

Albert, the neon bulb is nothing more than a gee whizz science demo masking as a way to check if it's working. I don't believe it's intended to be used in actual operation....at least I never have. The click can happen if you squeeze too quickly or if the environment is conducive to static discharge. You don't need to squeeze the trigger it's fullest extent....in fact it works better if you squeeze it just enough to do the job, but no more. Around here, that's barely at all sometimes. Just do it gradually, and mostly as you're peeling the record off the platter or just pulled it out of it's sleeve.

Mine never came with a neon bulb. I did have a girlfriend who questioned its functionality. I dared her to press her finger against the end and squeeze the trigger. She is no longer my girlfriend!

Strong sales throught Christmas up to today have reduced the available quantity considerably. When they're gone they're gone, then you're looking at $120.00 plus tax. Act now!
