I'm growing a bit frustrated with Windows Media Player. I have done all my updates, I'm running Windows 10. I get the dreaded "not responding" message all the time.

What are the good alternatives, I'm not looking for free software, if the product is right, I'll be happy to pay for it.

Quite a selection to choose from but the 2 most common is Foobar2000 (free) and jRiver (offers a free trial). Can’t go wrong with either of them and both are miles ahead of WMP

Started with WMP, had the same problems as everyone else. Switched to MediaMonkey (MonkeyMedia?), used it for a short time but still wasn't happy. Now I use Foobar and haven't found a reason to switch.

I am trying MusicBee right now and find it quite interesting. I miss Winamp! :(

My preferences in order are:

Foobar2000 https://www.foobar2000.org/download
MediaMonkey http://www.mediamonkey.com/download/
VLC https://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

These are free to use, easy to install, and uninstall if you are not happy.

Regards
Ohms

Foobar2000 it is.

I'm grateful to all carbon units who, faster than C, echoed back. Scotty, beam down my thanks.

Good choice, don't be afraid to try some of the others...
