I have a rare weekend to myself so decided the best way to start it off was with some BBQ, glass of wine and some tunes. Started with Wilco and now on to my favourite radio station: Radio Paradise.

In the last half hour:

Gillian Welch - Revelator
Neko Case - Buckets of Rain
Tracy Chapman - Let it Rain
Madeleine Peyroux - California Raining
Koop - Koop Island Blues (w/ Ane Brun)
Peter Gabriel - A Different Drum
Iron & Wine - Woman King
Bob Dylan - Everything is Broken
The Audreys - You & Steve McQueen

Great Dylan cover by Neko Case - like one poster wrote, "She can do no wrong."

Just working out in the shop on a few audio related pieces.
Neil Young Live at Massey Hall......bit of a downer overall but beautiful music.
I will pick up the pace with a little of Amy Winehouse...

hey Gupper, what have you got on the bench tonight? I'm surprisingly happy with my NAD/Castle/computer source tonight.

Got one of the Vuums with an upgraded silver power cord running into a pair of Klipsch Heresyii's.
For source, bouncing back between a mid 70's YPD6 Yammie DD turntable with a Shure M97xE and a late model Audio Technica DD ATPL120 with Luxman 320c Cartridge.
I was also listening to Norah Jones " Come sail away with me" on a Dan Santoni modded SD 3950 Toshiba.

Life is good!
Another good listen to a super clean debut album of Dire Straights.
Still use it as a reference although may not be the best recording ever, my ear knows it well !!!!!!

Oh yeah work.......going thru a 2238b Marantz.........

Waiting for my Sovtek KT66's for the vuum......

Still plenty of the VUUMs around at a couple of the LDs near my house....not going to bite though :)
I think I have that Straits album on LP.....it is a killer recording! A good example of how "live" vinyl can sound....I might have to give it a spin on my Luxman.

Snap: Taking a break from writing some code, listening to same Dire Straits as I type itÂ’s "Six Blade Knife" on my VUUM / Mission 707's and my newly acquired and setup TD145 MkII and my trusty bench mixer.

TonightÂ’s listeningÂ…..

Jeff Wayne’s – War of the Worlds.
Day’s of Future Passed – Moody Blues
The Mills Brothers – Cab Driver
ELO – Discovery
The Alan Parsons Project – Tales of Mystery and Imagination.
Roger Waters – The Pro’s and Cons of Hitchhiking.

PS why the 66's and not the 88's?

Thought I'd play something different tonight. Hotel Costes 5 compilation by Stephane Pompougnac. Really like "One Night in Rio" by Viennese musician Louie Austen, quite an original humourous jazz-electronic tune.
Besides I like the cover.
