Turning at 33.33 rpm tonight.
How's this for coincidence: I was coming home tonight and had a few minutes to spare before picking up the wife so swung by MilkCrate Records and came across this VG+ 1972 Liberty Records edition so snapped it up! 8)

The back ground noise on this 1950 CD recording sounds like its playing off a TT.Can any one explain this?

Well you certainly would expect better from Original Jazz Classics but maybe the master tape wasn't available or was in poor shape so it couldn't be used as a source for that CD. Record companies have been known to use an LP as the source in dire situations like this.

I bought a Julie London CD many years ago that was distributed by a company in Italy. The CD was clearly sourced from an LP because you could hear surface noise and a few pops & ticks here and there. A Julie London LP in pristine condition isn't easy to find so they used what they had.

I'm surprised that OJC is doing that. They've always had very high standards. Check the label, is it produced by Concord Music Group?

The album in question is removed from the original jewel case and put in an audiophile sleeve. There is still some paperwork and it also includes Japanese..Masters of Jazz 20bitK2 HQ CD The History Series (VICJ 2006)...Manufactured and distributed by Victor Entertainment,INC.Tokyo Japan (P) & (C) 1996 MonO/JASRAC (DIGITAL REMASTER) from a Master Recording owned by Fantasy,INC. U.S.A......

Also paperwork that says PRESTIGE LP 7024 Remastered by Van Gelder....Yet this album isn't included in the master list of Rudy Van Gelder remasters which I think is here https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/feature/-/966101

I'm far from a Jazz expert...

Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill (CD, 1995)
- she took the 'confessional songwriter' oeuvre to another level.

I'm listening to the KUTX (Austin) online stream. Been my "go-to" audio for the past year.

Holly Cole - The Best of Holly Cole (2000)

Can someone tell me what instrument is making the very low rumbling sound on track 13 - Alison starting around 1:56? And approx what frequency (Hz) it would be?
