That really is a stunning album, it made me a Shelby Lynne fan...The late Mr. A was responsible for me purchasing it...
Could you imagine the reviewer (pitchfork) that said:

"A dour Shelby Lynne does Dusty Springfield, demonstrating that minus the Dusty these standards don't shine nearly as bright".Then proceeded to give it a 5.3 out of 10...Definitely don't agree with that..

If you like this Shelby Lynne album you might like her "Revelation Road"..Not really a country album, lets call it Alt Country..

Some reviewers have very small ears and couldn't find a tree in the forest

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check and see if Tidal has it to preview. The only other thing I have of hers is a cd of "I am Shelby Lynne."

Talking Heads - Fear of Music (1979, ol' vinyl)

When this came out I was a 'Led Zep all day and night' kinda Duder and I completely missed out. Later, a friend of my sister taped the collection for me after hearing some at his house party. Nice gift. The music still gives though its no longer on a metal cassette.

I often see this going for a low price. Grab it if you see it! 10/10.

Bruce Springsteen - The Rising (2002, CD)

Pretty rocking for a later Bruce record and the return of the E Street Band. Saw this tour in Van Groovy (thx, old rusty).

Wife brought this home for me the other day. Sounds good on the BLP-1.

Talking Heads (more) - Remain in Light (1980, ol' vinyl)

Here's a pitch - College kids meld funk with Juju Music. Vampire Weekend did the same thing on Contra (2010), to great effect.

Speaking of 10 year birthdays, this album is days away....Wish they would do another, wonder what it would sound like...
Nobody really sounds like Portishead....

I'm sure there's something weirdly subliminal going on here. Just came home from Blue Tail Sushi where I had the Miso Black Cod and a Sapporo on tap and this is what I grabbed out of the rack completely unconsciously.
