Whats a good diy cleaner for interconnect plugs?

The highest quality, easy access for the average person 'contact cleaner' that I am aware of, is at Canadian Tire. It is in the automotive section, under the canned section, of lubricants, brake fluids, etc. In the area where brake cleaner is, there will be a pressurized can of electrical contact cleaner.

It's a oil stripping, zero residue electrical contact cleaner. $5.99 Motomaster Product #038-1740-4

Other than that, you have to go to specialty shops and pay twice as much. I have a strong preference for zero residue contact cleaners over that which have lubricants in them, as the lubricant spray types simply make the problems much worse, just a few months down the road.

Maybe not perfect for ic plugs, and maybe it is perfect for ic plugs. You'll end up with some discussion of some sort, regardless.

What are you trying to clean off?

Dirt/Dust?

Tarnish?

All of the above?
