I have a lot of people over to demo my system regularly. Everyone prefers Tidal HIFI through sonos to CD's hands down.

My Harbeths P3's were $2200 and Mcintosh MA 6300 was $2500 so almost 1:1 for me.

No Ethernet cable required with the SONOS. It runs straight off the WIFI signal. I believe previous versions of the SONOS needed a direct link but that is no longer the case. I ran mine with my Macbook and just a WIFI connection perfectly.

The unit in question was once mine. This receiver has had an unbelievably extensive rebuild that took more than 100 hours to complete. Sure it has a couple board covers missing but the unit will last for many many years without issues. The work was completed by an amazing technician as well. Not pro...

I cannot praise Brad enough. He is an amazing tech and I have sent him the most challenging repairs imaginable and he fixes them all with flying colors. An audio genius at work.

I have to 100% disagree with the above post. The 1980 is a special case with a power supply which was poorly designed. It is located under the amplifier with little to no ventilation. It "cooks" so to speak. All 1980's which have not been recapped and re-transistored at least on the power ...
