Spent some hours going through my cartridges....tested many of them. Few more tests possible and will update this info later.
I also rated the sound - out of 10.
Your ears and results may vary depending on your system, but I think safe to say some folks at least will agree.
Best got an 8.5 - Shure V15 type V. I had to leave some room for my top end carts, Dynavector 10x5 and Grado RS1 (not directly tested with this lot, but will test better).
All tested I consider useable as to sound quality, with exception of Shure 44.
A rating of 7 or better rating is really decent, and would be good enough for a lot of people on a lot of systems - unless they heard an 8, and you probably know how that goes.
Used a Jolida JD9 phono stage to test, and a nothing fancy Kenwood KD5070 turntable. Used a couple of different 2 channel systems. One a $2500 setup with Yamaha M-45/C-6 power to ADS1290 speakers. Then I tried some (not all) of these on my BA3000 amp behind Super Blue tube preamp with same speakers = noticeably better sound - should be as worth another $4000 or so = $6500 system total.
No problem shipping - experienced at packing cartridges.
Hey...before grinding hard on my prices...do a bit of homework please. I did. I can do a bit better here and there, and the more you buy the more I can do...but this is not kijiji...at least it didn't used to be. My tendency is to just dump painful offers to spam...forget them and move on. Hmmm...I kinda forget, but think theres one or 2 in there now.
