For sale is this Dynavector DV-XX2 MKII low output phono cartridge.
I bought this a couple of years ago from Audio Eden, I'm the original owner. It has been installed on my Clearaudio Innovation Compact turntable and properly setup with the Dr. Feickert Protractor and the azimuth with the Feickert Adjust+ software program. I ran it at 1.8 grams tracking force and a light antiskate.
All LP's played with this cartridge are VG+ or better condition - if I get an album with a scratch on it play is stopped, the album is scored with a utility knife, snapped in half and thrown in the garbage where it belongs. Junk is junk.
This isn't one of those "only 50 hours barely broken in" cartridges that so many sell here on CAM. I know, you always ask yourself "Then why did you buy it if you didn't want it"? Either that or "Only 50 hours - right".
I use a "people counter" to keep track of how many albums that I've played. The people counter, as you can see is the fancy audiophile version, not some cheap unreliable imitation. Go to Amazon and search for Tally Counter with Base, you should find one for about $10 with shipping.
The current total on the counter is 466 LP's - if you figure approximately 40 to 45 minutes per album that works out to a total playing time on this cartridge of 310 to 350 hours. With this stylus design if properly setup you should easily achieve 1,200 hours before the stylus needs replacement or is traded in on something bigger and better.
Which is why I'm selling this cartridge - I've moved up to the Te Kaitora Rua cartridge, the next one up the ladder in the Dynavector product line. It’s debatable whether the increased cost is directly equated to better performance, but that’s a personal choice we all make.
From the link to the article reviewing the DV-XX2 MKII, "The XX-2 is a stunning cartridge. It's far from a cheap or even mid-market cartridge but for 40% of the cost it gives 90% of the fidelity of the DRT and a similar presentation. It'll fit any quality arm and gives a totally unflappable performance."
The cartridge is complete with original packaging, mounting screws and stylus brush. I never used the brush, I prefer the Onzow Zerodust stylus cleaner.
As always, I’m willing to negotiate and discuss price with any serious buyer. Payment is with EMT or PayPal, with the latter I can cover the fees. With either option the buyer pays for insured shipping to the sale price.

Edit: I noticed the link to the web site with the review of this cartridge doesn't appear unless I'm logged in. If anyone else has that problem you can find it here:
