Copy of an EICO HF86 Power Amp
This is an exact copy of an Eico HF86 Tube Power Amplifier . These amps produce 14 watts RMS per channel.
It has the original #32013 Output Transformers as used in the HF86 and HF81 amplifiers.
It has a new Power transformer made by Heyboer-these are the replacements for the HF86/81 amps-they are made to handle the higher AC today at near 125V and don't vibrate or hum.
The whole amplifier has been built on a new Hammond Chassis and bottom plate.
Tube sockets for the predriver and power output tubes, rectifier tubes and predriver are all Belton and new shields for the predriver.
At the back in has a new style AC power plug, Gold binding posts connected to the black plus 4 and 8 ohm taps on the output transformer.
Gold Input jacks and also has same input 500k pot as the HF86 design if lower input levels are required.
The power supply uses 40uf/47uf/40uf at 450v
Resistors in the plates are Kiwame 2W, the rest are carbon film. Metal Oxide used in the power supply.
All the small caps are silver mica.
Coupling caps from predriver to power tubes are all Russian PIO K40.
Tubes: 2 EZ81/6CA4
1. Phillips branded Made in Australia-looks like an Amprex or Mullard design tests 90/91 has code of 8 top line C3E on bottom
2. GE Made in England tests 92/92
2 predriver 7247(12DW7) GE Made in the USA #1 tests 89/85 #2 92/93

2 6BQ5(EL84) NOS Westinghouse #1 test 90, #2 tests 90 Made in West Germany , matched within 2 ma
All tube testing was done on a Dyna 625 where 120 is Max full scale.
Very nice sounding Amp, nice soundstage.
Email for additional info and pix if required. I built another one of these a few years ago and it sold very quickly. Check feedback.
