Mint Kenwood KD550 Japanese Direct Drive Audiophile turntable!
Rare to find in AS NEW mint condition...
I purchased this table from the original owner. He had stored it since first purchasing it. In it's original box, with original tonearm and cartridge - never been played! The table is in mint condition with the only blemish being the crack in the lid. This crack happened during shipping and I was devastated. The lid does however work perfectly and does what it is supposed to do. But if you know these tables, it is difficult to find one without a cracked or severely weathered lid. Outside of the crack, the lid is mint. Not a speck.
As such, can I suggest a fantastic mod for this Kenwood lid - using a local acrylic factory to manufacture a new one. I've linked a video here to show what I feel is a massive lid improvement over the original Kenwood one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HP7tHqD4_A
The KD550 replaced the KD500 which didn't come with a tonearm. The 550 tonearm is actually made by Jelco for Kenwood and it is mint on this table along with everything else.
Here's a great review of the Kenwood KD500/550 on Liquid Audio: http://liquidaudio.com.au/kenwood-kd-500-kd-550-direct-drive-turntable/
Note that I have had this Kenwood inspected and tuned by the boys at Lotusland in Vancouver.
Please note how heavy this turntable is. Insured professional shipping from Vancouver, BC for Canada or from Point Roberts, Wa. to the USA (lower 48 only). I'm happy to arrange buyer shipping preference and work with buyer to achieve best shipping price.
