Beautiful example of very well built (broadcast quality) vintage direct drive table.

Built from 1969 to 1970. Am told this is an early serial number. 600040

Recent full service by good vintage tech at Audio Ark in Edmonton. Full physical checkup, pots cleaned, motor oiled. Played a few hundred hours afterwards without missing a beat.

Some options including dust cover (near mint), and suspended factory plinth.

NO ARM - it had a SME IV on it before I got it, so plinth obviously drilled for that arm.

The later Quartz lock Mark 2 and Mark 3 versions of this table are worth thousands more. Am no expert, but been told that some people actually prefer this Mark 1 version - with servo controlled motor.

Primarily a one owner table here in Alberta. I'm technically 3rd owner but never had an arm on it. 2nd recent owner had it serviced and used it for a few months.

Condition overall is close to a "Wow Man", well actually it gets that from me. Conservatively I rate it 8.5 probably a 9 out of 10, as compared to several other unrestored examples.

Defects? Few tiny scratches on dustcover, but oh so tiny. Tiny nick or 2 on real wood plinth. Couple of extra small holes drilled in top of plinth - possibly for record brush? Couple of these filled with screws - slight improvement in cosmetics. The while blemish showing on rear is actually bit of masking tape that will come off easy - I just didn't have right technology at hand - erasor I think.

Check out the platter - holy moly - should have weighed it - probably 10 lbs. Just a beautiful piece, and such nice shape.

Will probably put up my Sota Sapphire too and maybe another "keeper" or 2 - sell one or 2 and complete/upgrade the survivor.

Prefer local sale, but could be convinced to ship. Am good at packaging, just don't relish the several hours I'd be spending on this one. And the risk of sending it out into the wilds of package handlers on medical marijuana not that attractive - but would pack accordingly.

Can deliver for free to Calgary or Red Deer, on my schedule. Edmonton maybe as well, but could be awhile.

Lowball offers go to spam and stay there - lots of jovial company down there - yes it's in the down place.
