Jupiter: ''Bringer of Jollity"
Excellent tonal balance.
Loading tray too small.
That's what describes the Jupiter best. This CD player puts the music and musician's emotion first through its wonderful sound. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but who wants those if it doesn't bring anything to the music itself.
The Jupiter strength lies in its ability to reproduce the soul of the musician's, due to the fact that it leans towards a more analogue sound. It makes you feel like you are a part of the music; makes you bluesy at blues, tap your feet at rock, and sing with the singer. It's a very involving CD player. The Jupiter has a laid back sound in a sense that it has less compression in the digital signal; a fatigue-free player which is rare on the market. It is well built, but is also quite heavy. A downside is the loading tray; they could have added a little more room for your fingers to grab the CD.
The bass is firm, can handle digital or acoustic bass with ease. The midrange is articulate without overcoming. Highs are smooth with a good roll off. It shows no sign of "shhhh". The soundstage is realistic, coherent with a good height.
If you're looking for a more analogue-oriented CD player, give this a try.
