Hey a OZ enterprises cable review by me :) This will be a review that takes a few posts as I just got them and the first post is the initial thoughts

Well I just purchased the Unity Monster Link (9 gauge!) speaker cable, 8 ft pair off Oz Enterprises.

Here is a picture of the cables from Oz Enterprise ( I have no camera at the moment as I had a nasty run in taking pictures at a soccer game )

Image

Well that is what they look like at my house minus the grey background.

Here is the discription that is written at the site...
http://www.marketworks.com/storefrontpr ... i=22371586
Description
New from Unity Audio, the Monster Link speaker cable is made in Canada using quality materials such as oxygen free high conductivity copper conductors with a 99.99997% purity, with an aggragate 9 gauge. The twisted quad conductors can carry signal up to 100 feet without degrading, and are further insulated with nylon, and then covered with a PVC jacket, topped off with an esthetically pleasing silver and black mesh sleeve that also prevents abraision.

Connectors supplied are gold BFA banana plugs which fit all modern posts, including those from Europe.

These cables are well suited to speakers from Paradigm, PSB, Energy, Athena, Totem, StudioLAB, Angstrom, Mirage, Axiom, Dahlquist, and many others.

Well I am going to say the suckers are heavy. Damn heavy. They are well built and have that great snake look to them. They look great against a white base board.

The plugs fit nice and snug into the m-600 speakers and the vr-6070 intergrated.

The wife likes the look of them... Not bright yellow or some other distracting colour :)

Did I tell you they are heavy... Well the listening tests will take place this weekend with some some good tunes and a couple of movies....

:D Perhaps even the booze test will occur :)

Andrew,

Merci beaucoup! C'est tres obvious, I don't know why I did not see it......

If it sounds good, I would think it a very good deal in a speaker cable. I have yet to hear a copper cable I like... I would love to find one, because silver in a speaker cable is very expensive, due to the quantity needed, but silver has a smoothness and beautiful presentation I can't seem to find elsewhere ....

I've purchased two sets of the Unity Link Basic Speaker Cables (10' lengths - From Omer @ Oz Enterprises - absolutely fantastic customer service I might add) and have not regretted it at all. I auditioned some other types (Ultralink, Audioquest Type 2 & 4+ - supplied by Omer). I posted a review on the Unity Basic's a while back and like I said before, they are amazing. I'm not sure how the Unity Monster Link sound but if they're anything like the Basic's, you will be very pleased with them. I have my Totem Sttaf's biamped so that's why I needed two sets. The sound is very balanced. All frequencies seem to blend together nicely. The highs are very smooth, the mids sound amazing and the bass is deep and tight. Not too overpowering. I used to have Kimber 8PR before the Unity but I'm glad I made the change. After saying all of this I guess I may as well add that my system consists of NAD electronics. So if you're using some electronics of higher quality, you should be able to appreciate them that much more. You should also consider getting some of the Unity interconnects. They're great too. Just my 2 cents worth.

Peter

Thanks for the kind words guys, and very much looking forward to tescosamoa comments on Unity's latest CANADIAN speaker cable.
If anybody is wondering how the name was thought up - since this is a 9awg design and bigger than most cable designs, it seemed proper. Plus, since weuse eBay as an advertising medium, and most people search for Monster cable, it generates a lot of traffic. :P 8)

I've also just snagged myself a set of these fine cables, though I have yet to have in my hands!!

Once received, I'm going to review as well to share my impressions. I must say I also have a set of the Unity Link cable and it is a veryyyy fine product. As stated earlier in the year, sounds as good if not better than my past Audioquest Crystal which was and still is considered a very fine product.

I should also say the build quality of the Unity cables is nothing short of spectacular.

I can't wait to get them.....

Alright the review.

I took a whole week of just playing stuff in the back ground to work up reviewing the cables..... And watching 5.1 stuff.

So the night.

Hard week at work.... Needed to unwind.

Sat out in the back yard listening to toons and had 2 wobblies :)

Went out for a few hours and came home and asked received permission to listen to the sytem at midnight on a loud volume.

So I opened a bottle of wine and grabbed two albums that I know every single note to

Nomeanso - Small parts isolated and destroyed
Fugazi - Repeater

I have both albums on lp and Cd.... That night I listened to them on cd in the dark drinking 3 glasses of wine. One at the beginning , one between albums and one at the end.

I listened to the music at a good volume.

Perhaps it was the fact that I had not sat down and listened to those albums back to back in years. Perhaps it was the wine. Perhaps it was the cables. Perhaps it was the first real listen to the cd player.

Perhaps.

Reality. Fantastic. I enjoyed every single note. Went to bed at 5 AM. Listened to another 3 albums afterwards ( Arcade Fire, Black Sabbath , Clash )

It just really hit the spot. Took all that stress called life and made it disappear for a few hours. Omer. Thankyou very much. I really enjoyed listening to music that night. No distractions just pure music. Fantastic.

P.S.

Do I recommend the Unity Monster Link cables. Hell no. They are the worst sounding cables I have ever heard in my life! Do not attempt to bid on these cables. That way I can purchase another set at a bargin of a price and enjoy them in the 2 channel room.

Who was it that said "music is the wine that fills the cup of life"?
Don't know, but when I'm felling like crap, great music shared with great food/drink and great people lifts my spirits like nothing else.
Tesco, thanks for the feedback, and I hope others who indulge in Unity products feel the same. 8)
