It's been done before, but needs to be done again.

I have had several pieces of equipment in for repairs and upgrades by Dan the last few months.

Dan should be considered first for repairs anywhere in the Golden horseshoe and I understand some members here have sent him equipment also from other provinces.

His work is excellent and extremely reasonable. You can take your stuff to him with confidence the bill is not going to be an eye-poke and the job will be done on time and correctly. He is also a wiz with turntables- repair and setup and has a lot of knowledge and experience with most makes.

As a bonus, Dan has an engaging personality and is always wearing a grin. He's an audio enthusiast with experience on so many different brands and I would stake my wallet on his opinions on what to buy or avoid. No BS, just depth of knowledge you can trust and rely on.

This dude is a genuine class act. Here's his website with email contact:

http://www.dtsaudioelectronics.com/

The custom cables are great too.

I've spoken to him a couple of times, and he's saved me money just with his opinion. He seems to be the type of guy who wants to help out, not just out to "make a buck"

He's the 'real deal'.

I don't want to imply an info hotline here, the guy already works his arse off. But as a regular customer if I was looking to buy something old and funky with some specific TLC needed, I feel I could tap his knowledge before sending out the cheque and I would know that I could take it to him to get the work done right or probably get an honest, 'take a pass'.

Dan is very good and has been at this for quite awhile and I can vouch for his work going on 10 years I think.Anyone who is enamoured of things vintage need to make Dan your first priority. He will replace only what is needed, and will install "audiophile" caps if you are so inclined and feel they will make a difference. But then it wouldn't be vintage would it?IT would be moddified, but modded by someone who knows what he is doing.

Dan has done a lot of work for me as well. He does good work, is knowledgeable both as a tech and as an audiophile. I trust his opinion on equipment & he has lead me to some excellent buys.

I have brought him several of friends, who are amazed at how reasonable his prices are and how well he does his work.

As an added bonus, he is a great guy to chat about audio with!

It's like an underlying & repeated theme. Just a prince of a guy. How often do you get to deal with somebody so cool? 8) BTW it's why I brought this thread up. Dealing with somebody competent and effective is one thing. But it seems the guy goes that extra step to enjoy what he's doing and relating with his customers- that's a winner.

I would suggest you take all your audio buddies to him, if you have not already done so.

I have only used Dan's services once, but I am very happy with the results and have a list of items I'd like to have him work on. As far as I am concerned, this is the most important measure of service: "repeat business" says it all.
I also agree with the assessment of Dan's affability, however, I recommend all of you refrain from taking stuff to him...so he can work on my stuff first!!! ;^)

Thanks Finski,

Word of mouth is the best way to find quality help. I'm finding more & more that it's the only way that I feel comfortable doing business regardless of the product or service. I've added DTS Audio to my Favorites and will contact Dan for future upgrades & service.
