Interesting article on www.linkwitzlab.com Scroll down near the bottom and click on Orion++ . I think I am going to bite the bullet and build me one of those.

that looks like an interesting build. i have a set of supertweeters that i sometimes reverse fire just for that same effect, works pretty well.

The Orion loudspeaker also has several votes on audiogon under "what's the best speaker you ever heard"...I bit the bullet and just ordered the plans today. It will cost me about 3500 to build complete with electronic crossover/equalizer.That is dirt cheap for a world class speaker.I will post a review here once it is completed.
I am not selling my B+Ws just yet though.I will wait and if the Orions are as good as everyone claims the B+Ws will be gone.

Yes please do so. Pictures as you go along would also be fun and interesting to follow.

I have heard numerous very positive things about these. I am VERY intrigued and might go for it as well.

Good luck, enjoy your time spent building these and keep us posted, please.

Congrats.. they are the one speaker I consider moving to. I assume you are aware you need several channels of amplification with them. Beyond that, I expect the B&W's will be gone :-)

Please keep us updated on your progress. I assume you have good woodworking skills. My one complaint with the Orion is I am not sure I have seen a pair I would actually call pretty.

As I am going to build the Orion+ it requires 5 drivers per speaker. I just ordered them from Madisound in the states at a cost of 1648 (u.s) which includes shipping. The drivers were much more expensive at Solen here in Canada(tweeters alone were 250 each).I asked to have them sent airmail so I won't pay brokerage fees and I may even get away with the taxes and duty this way.

Are you going to buy the recommended Atlantic multi-channel power amp as well or do you have something else in mind?

I am thinking of using bryston sst amps.I would use 3 of the 2b ssts or I would use 2 of the 3 channel 9b sst. I am leaning towards bryston because of their soft startup up which would protect the drivers if there is ever an interuption in power, ie during a storm etc.
However I am also considering others as well as the ATI.
The plans ,active crossover/equalizer and drivers all should be here within 2 weeks.

I was just checking Adcom's site out.I see they have some multi channel amps that would work. They build a good amp and it certainly would be much cheaper.
