Hi.

I am usually in the habit of cruising the ads at least once a day and sometimes a few times a day when there’s not much going on. The question I ask must be answered honestly, or as honestly as your recollection recalls. What’s the longest time period in memory you have NOT been on CAM?

Couple days, couple weeks, or longer ?

I can remember a time when I was pretty disenfranchised with this entire hobby where I did not even pop onto the site or any others for that matter for about 3 months. This was more of an issue with some very stressful circumstances surrounding my day to day life at the time, but that was quickly cured with the purchase of a used VAC integrated 8)

Just wondering, but I’m sure for some it could have been much longer !

I'm usually on at least a few times a day, early morning and evenings. The longest I've been away from CAM has been 3 days, "long weekend camping trip". By the time I got home I went straight for the laptop and scrolled through 3 pages of new ads and thought wow what a slow weekend, I felt completely unsatisfied and had to go to other local buy and sells to get my fix.....

I’m a once a day guy unless -as presently, I have ads on, then likely more frequently. I have, as I suspect others here as well have done, taken sabbaticals from all things audio that can last a year or more until the itch comes back.

I cancelled my account and managed to stay away without any issues for a couple of years. The only reason I came back was because I had some gear to buy and sell. I'm still not as active as I ever was. Like a lot of sites, over time we just cover the same issues over and over. It gets tiresome.

I had some people go on about no feedback for buying or selling because all of my history was gone but that never bothered me, you can attach your eBay history.

You know, I've never really thought about it. It will be twelve years next month since I joined and I'm sure there must have been at least a few short sabbaticals but I don't remember any specific ones. I don't post as much on the forums now and like a previous poster said I have grown extremely tired of the same old debate issue threads on this sites forums and therefor almost never jump into the fray anymore as it is just wasted ether.

I would say 2 weeks as I was on a kayak trip miles away from any internet connection.

Thank you,

About 2 years.

I got so fed up with the cable wars that I was on the verge of getting banned. So, I asked to be banned to ensure that I could return later if I chose to do so.

I returned because I started receiving feedback for items that I never sold.

You may note my conspicuous absence from the cable forum, as I'm locked out of it. Which is probably a good idea.

I'm essentially a newbie because I've only been a member for 4 years. In those 4 years, the longest I would have went without checking in would have been a week because I forced myself to go off the grid for a week in Mexico.

That was a rough week.
