Hello everyone
I am planning to change the caps in my lm518 set amplifier.
The new cap would be Jupiter copper foil cap in the signal path.
Any melting issue experience regarding the caps?
I use to have in a push pull integrated amp the older one ,not the copper version and I ended up with melting issue.

Thanks.
steve

I don't think the new ones have this issue like the older beeswax ones

I'm running Jupiter HT foil caps in my MP-D2 tube DAC and no issues with the heat and such. I highly recommend the Jupiters but be forewarned, they are HUGE for their respective values!

Designer caps can be physically quite large.
Make sure there is enough space before you order them.

Also, I'm not sure of the internal structure of these caps,
however if they are wound like toilet paper (not a finger joint),
then the outside of the foil should go to the low impedance side of the circuit.

Hello Peter

Thanks. but the dac is not so hot like a se 845tube based amp.
I still will do my research.
Regards.
