Visited two stores (Forch's Record Store downtown Cambridge and Encore Records in Kitchener). Both were really busy when I was there. Forch's had live music and a lot of the RSD releases of which I did not get any. I picked up Under The Table and Dreaming by Dave Matthews, supposedly remastered from the original analogue tapes and a limited pressing.

At Encore I picked up Tearing At The Seams by Nathaniel Rateliff.
Got digital downloads with both (which is nice and a should do for every new vinyl record you buy).

Had a brief conversation with a very young fellow in line at Encore (I would place him in his mid twenties). Was telling me that he bough his "player" 3 years ago. Has been to record store day every year since then. Said he really enjoyed the experience and then plunked down $100 for the 4 records he just purchased. Was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of youg people (both male and femaie) purchasing vinyl.

My wife was gracious enough to accompany me today and we then went for brunch at the Belmont Bistro where we had excellent crepes. If you are in Kitchener any time, a definite must eat at place. Wrapped it up and came home. And of course the weather was amazing so great to get out.

A real boon for your local record store for sure. Price of new vinyl is still crazy though..

Enjoy the day everyone!

Nice find on the bag - I had a copy of drastic plastic on white vinyl for sale here locally for $10 for over a year and I think it ended up at VV in a box of stuff I wanted gone. Nice to know someone else appreciates them.

Only one I was looking for here in London @ Grooves Records.
How Big The Space - RSD - Steven Wilson.
Looking forward to seeing him tomorrow @ the Danforth Music Hall.

I actually am not familiar with them but I am a huge fan of Gary Numan and he thought Bill Nelson was the best guitarist he knew so I wanted to try their stuff. The copy I got is white vinyl.

I got Arcade Fire -demo ep Ltd 3000
David Bowie - Let's Dance 45rpm
U2 / Beck - Light's of home 45rpm
The Police Ghost in the Machine ( Abbey Rd Studio's 1/2 speed remastered )

There were not as many people at the same location as last year in the line up. Maybe due to the offerings.

Came away with just one today. Nice quiet pressing. Finally get to hear the original version of "Teo" that Branford Marsalis covered on his "Four MF's Playin' Tunes" album.

You have good taste! :D

I was not aware of RSD 2018. But, after just checking out the available Listings:

http://recordstoredaycanada.ca/the-offi ... 21st-2018/

...That too, would have been my 'preferred' first choice. "Good Score!"

I went down to Looney Tunes in Burlington. The store was nice and busy.

RSD Releases:
Prince: 1999 (single album, 7 tracks)
The Sundays: Reading, Writing and Arithmatic

I was tempted by Live Rust at the Roxy but passed since I already have Live Rust.

I also picked up a couple of other reissues while I was there, several of which were generously discounted:

Guns ‘N Roses: Appetite for Destruction
LCD Soundsystem: Sounds of Silver
Buzzcocks: Another Music in a Different Kitchen

Enjoying my new snags as I write. Considering this is all new vinyl, very happy with the quality.

Good snag! They only had the Ornette Coleman at my local shop.

went to the Record Centre and stood in line 20 minutes or so before opening with about 100 other people.
the store was packed and it was a bit of a zoo in there.

bought:
Bowie- Now
Bowie-Welcome to the Blackout Live
Bowie-Let's Dance 12" single
Neil Young- Tonight's the Night Live @ the Roxy
Allman Bros- Atlanta Festival 1970
Dylan & the Dead
Doors- Live @ the Matrix

i had the Pink Floyd mono Pipers in my hand waiting in line but the guy next to me was practically in tears cause he had missed out on it. so as a gesture of RSD madness- i gave him the copy (last one in the store!).

later i went to Legend Records and picked up a copy of Flamin' Groovies- Grease

i had originally been excited at the prospect of the Tom Waits- 3 double LP sets but by a complete coincidence a few weeks ago, i found a mint sealed box of the original Orphans set here on CAM.

edit: forgot to mention also got the FREE Johnny Cash Early Singles LP -was a RSD limited release to only a handful of Canadian independent stores and did i mention it was FREE?
