AudioEden in Aurora had them. If you've already heard the Kefs though you're bound to be disappointed, I've owned both and the Kefs are in an entirely different league unless you're sold on the looks of the Dentons. Not bad for the clearance prices though!

Completely disagree. I bought the Dentons from Audio Eden. Here's what I believe to be the reality. The KEF's will slightly outperform the Dentons ONLY if you match them with equipment they are happy with. They are far less forgiving. The Dentons will be happy with just about anything you put upstream. So the question really becomes what you want to run them with and what you want to run in the long term. Also, keep in mind the Dentons are selling for significantly less right now.
Also, I have the Maggies sitting here right now. Which ones were you listening to?

the mmg was powered by the naim integrate and the kef ls50 was powered by a yahama rs-300 integrate.if I would choose between the 3, i will be powering them with

system 1. youtube tvs through marant sr5005 with parasound hca1205a
system 2. youtube sony ubp-x800 through tubedac-11 with threshold cas2

Plus one for Audio Eden. I was there on Saturday and they have these at a very good price.

Anyone have any idea how the Dentons might compare to the Warfedale Reva 1 on sale at Parts Connexion.

I've owned the Dentons and the LS50's, and I have to say while the Dentons were fine sounding speakers, I've got to give it to the LS50's. One of the best set of bookshelves I've heard in the price range.

Saying that, Music Direct has a SCREAMING good deal on the Dentons right now (it's where I bought mine). At this price, there's absolutely nothing that will touch them.

Hi,

Music Direct has been deep discounting the Dentons for a year or more. They must have bought a container load of them and can't get any traction in the US. Super low price even with duties added. Excellent reviews on the Denton by the UK audio press. Similar outcome to the Quad 11 and 12. Great bookshelf speakers and no buyers - then deep discounts. Not quite the equal of the LS50s (what is), but, as another poster has indicated, far more forgiving of ancillary gear and component matching. I notice that Music Direct is not discounting the newer Wharfedale Diamond 220 and 225 series. They must be selling them.

Cheers,
David Neice

Yes, I saw that ad. I want to audition the speakers first before making any purchase.

They were under $700 with taxes and shipping. Not really much more than Music Direct, if you can get them at Music Direct.

the denton is $599 for a pair and kef ls50 white or black is $1200 for a pair. i love the vocal and the bass on the denton but the details is less separated than the kef. I am saving up for the kef.

I ended up with a pair of elac-ub5 for $426 plus tax on amazon. they are a perfect matched for my marant/parasound combo.

my elac debut b5 is a perfect match for my tubedac-11/threshold cas2.

Have a wonderful listening people. enjoy and cheers.

Good choice. I took advantage of the slashed prices and had the Denton 80th for a week before deciding to return them. As long as your amp has enough juice the UB5's will be satisfying long term speakers at the price point.
