Wondering if there are any Edmonton area owners that may want to demo their speakers? I'm hoping to listen to some before making a final choice, have a few good conversations and make some more new CAM friends.

I'm looking for speakers with big impact to upgrade from standmounts and think I've narrowed it down between these:

Spatial M3 Turbo S
Focal Aria 936/948
Klipsch Forte III, Cornwall III or Klipschorns (EDIT: I found new Cornwalls III's in my price range so added them to the Klipsch line-up)
Martin Logan Montis, Summit, Spire
Revel Performa3 208
Yamaha NS-1000

EDIT: Based on feedback from others I've also added Martin Logan to my list, Spire, Summit, Montis.

If you happen to have a set and would be willing to show them off for me that'd be great! I can bring the beer, scotch or wine - whatever your preference! ;-)

The Klips and Spatials I've never heard either, would be a nice treat.

Thing is I'm feeling close to just going with the Spatials or Focals and trying my luck, but think I should do things right this time and really do some proper auditioning haha. Especially after everyone was so great to help me come up with this list.

I could help with Magnepan MG 3.6/R and Klipsch La Scala (upgraded), no room for Klipschorns but if I ever find a set I'd buy them in a heartbeat and make them fit.
I have a set of Cornwalls out on loan or you could hear those as well. I love collecting stuff, LOL

If I'm able to make it down I'll definitely let you know, thanks! The Arias are very intriguing, nothing but stellar reviews and seem like excellent value.

So I'm going to head down to Audio 5.1 today over lunch and have a listen to some ML's, bringing a few test CD's and my trusty Tidal HiFi account :-).

I have a friend who's dad owns the Arias 948. He invited me over and we had a good few hours of listening to them.
They are absolutely spectacular sounding. Unfortunately they're not mine so I can't invite you over - but just want to give them a nod of approval.

I haven't been to Shand's place in a few years, lots of neat surprises in his store and He's one heck of a nice guy to deal with. Enjoy and let us know your impressions.

There's a set of Forte's for sale in Edmonton, here: http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/ ... -speakers/
I'm not real sure what the going rate on them these days is...to me that price sounds a bit elevated, but otoh they are pretty rare too...

Very nice offer, and a good opportunity to hear the difference between the Maggies and the La Scala's. Too bad the Cornwall's weren't available...he should hear those too!

Thanks, they certainly seem well liked - the 936's have pretty similar specs as well and also look good.

I wonder how the I's compare to the newest III's, the general consensus seems to be that the I's need a lot of updating to be comparable. I'll look into it though, thanks!
