Sit her down and play A Practical Arrangement, from Sting’s The Last Ship. Then whilst the Kleenex is still out, play her Kurt Elling’s equally touching rendition from Branford Marsalis’s album Upward Spiral. She’ll melt.

"I'm not promising the moon
I'm not promising a rainbow
Just a practical solution
To a solitary life"

While weeping, she said the music is so good that it's as if Sting is singing in front of us... I got carried away and told her how much I spent on the system ....

“Fields of gold” Eva Cassidy. What a career she would have had...

-- 23 Jan 2018 04:53 --

And Stan Rogers “the Jeanie C”. Damn you air canada...damn you....

I just noticed they were both 33 when they died. I say damn aircanada tounge in cheek...the truth is the crew did the best they knew at the time. The changes made as a result of that accident has saved many lives since. Changes ranged from the material seats were made of to standard operating procedures (sop’s) regarding resetting of circuit breakers...so we are all safer. Thanks Stan...

Ah yes Stan Rogers, what an amazing and resonant voice, a tragic loss. His brother Garnet has that same magic. Must be the salt air.
