Just set up Cambridge CXN tonite! Cold out of the box it has more presence and details than Bluesound Node 2. Previously I was streaming Deezer premium and now using built in Spotify. I signed up 30 day free trial. Keep in mind not decoding MQA! I will also check output voltage of CXN to make sure same as Node 2. Seems CXN a touch louder.

Similarly went Node 1 to Stream Magic V2, and now have a CXN.

Although I've read good things about the Node 1's RCA output, I never cared for it. It was better as a streamer with an external DAC. IMO the Node 1's onboard DAC is a little dark, light on detail, and has undefined bass. Never tried the Node 2, but it has a better onboard DAC and I'm reading good things about its RCA output.

I'm a fan of the CXN's flat, highly detailed, and almost sterile sound. I find it doesn't add anything to the sound like some other DAC's I've tried. The bass is there when its supposed to be, and it sounds right. The detail it pulls out is amazing. Its versatility is hard to replace. Try finding something with the same or better features in its price range. The price tag to upgrade from a CXN is a lot higher, trust me I'm looking.

Yes the bass is more powerful and detailed as I found too! This was my first day. Do you know if all streaming services have the same resolution? I have used Deezer and Tidal non MQA. Now using Spotify.

I did all updates but didn't see it. It only shows Spotify.

I thought Tidal was later this year?

I had owned the Bluesound Node and it left me wanting for more almost the moment I bought it. The sound quality out of the RCA out was just ok with some noise mixed in when using wifi connection. I've tried its optical out to some DAC's but I just could not justify the escalating cost. The Cambridge CXN was a stunner in my home audition. I was so pumped about the sound because it was so earthy and driven. I didn't end up getting it because of the app functionality, but man I can never forget what a step up it was from the Node!

CXN sounded bright and lifeless in my system. Keeping my Node.
