I was at a party recently where people got up and danced to:
Kraftwerk "Computer World"

Any other unusual dance songs?

I had that album on tape in the mid 80's.

Fun fun fun on the autobahn...

Not sure why but when they sing "Trans Europe Express" it sounded to me like they were singing "Cancer of the Breast".

Yuch

Dead or Alive – You Spin Me Round

This one hit wonder is not so much unusual to dance to. However, Pete Burns transformation throughout the years could be considered a tad odd.

Back in the 80s I was the DJ at many of the neighborhood parties. With the right crowd you could always throw in a few odd songs. I'd spin Canada's quintessential punkers DOA'a cover of Singing In The Rain. Great fun watching the Rockers pretending to be Punkers.

Adam Ant's Goody Two Shoes was unusual in that there was always someone who would emulate Andy Ant moves from the video

Perhaps not unusual but loved the crowd that would dance to Wall of Voodoo's Mexican Radio

I was recently introduced to a German funk band, The Poets of Rhythm. Depending on what kind of dance music you are looking for, you may wish to check them out:

ummm... unusual ?? computer world and "numbers" were high on my rotation list when I was a club dj in late 81... 8)
And certainly kraftwerk are not one trick ponies...

If you want to try something a bit offbeat.. try "Wordy Rappinghood" by Tom Tom Club,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Vl1m5FYlAo

Which is on the same album as the bigger hit "Genius of Love"

Ok.. so at the risk of self promotion, I built up a Spotify playlist a while back.. that has a boat load of some great stuff, take a listen.. search out "DD-DM-One" I has everything from ABBA to Visage in it... I dare you to sit still.. .
