If the cables produce a sound that is 'thin' it is entirely possible that they are accurately reproducing the sound of the system itself...and not a characteristic of their own...if you know what I mean. 8)

Try putting them into a friends system and see if you get the same results. 8)

Just sayin' that perhaps it would be prudent to establish that it is in fact the cables that are the problem before investing more money...if you know what I mean.

If you have a " transparent " cable and your system is " lean " sounding you might be tempted to blame the cable. Especially if the cable you replaced had the effect of " rolling off " the highs in your system.

You can counter the lean sounding cable/system by turning the bass knob in a clock-wise direction. You can also try plugging your power amp directly into wall.

I once had both the RSC Air1 and Air3 interconnects by Tara Labs. The Air1 was the more expensive cable and it sounded less lean than the 3 - I think this was because the 1 had a thicker conductor.

So if we can take this analogy and apply it to the fancy cable you're considering, then we can say that the LS model might sound less lean than Flatline if it's either 1. More expensive, or, 2. Has a thicker conductor.

Turning the treble knob counter-clockwise a tad can have a similar effect.

Did you try the bass knob yet?

jn, I wish I had experience with these cables. But, I did have similar results with Kimber Hero's. Lean, but neutral.

Swapped to try a cheaper pair of Straightwire ICs... Really warm sounding. Used them on my CDP for a spell. Then swapped back to the Hero's as they were just more neutral sounding.

If you don't like the Nordosts... Try some Straightwire ICs :)
