Anyone with a JL Audio E110 or E112 sub having trouble with the level (volume) cutting in and out when you turn the level control knob up or down?

might just need a good cleaning with contact cleaner. deoxit is good to use.

I've had two since 2015, no problems. I agree it sounds like a dirty pot which could be solved with Deoxit.

I had this problem. Call or email JL Canada. They sent me a new amp and driver for free, but I had to pay shipping to send the old parts back, I guess they refurb the amps. My sub eventually stopped working, and I never touched the volume. It’s a very common problem, So Hopefully JL takes care of you.

I also took the amp apart and tried cleaning the volume pot. It didn’t work.

My E110 would all of a sudden take off to full volume and the volume wouldn't turn it back down. Had to unplug it to reset itself. Keeps happening.

I contacted JBL and they said it was the potentiometer for the volume and it would require a new amp.

I'll take it to a shop some day if I have the use for a sub again. Would be silly if I had to replace the whole amp for a a small fix like that.

Did you have to supply them with a receipt of purchase?

Seems I spoke too soon, one of my subs now suffers from the issue described above. Since mine are sequential serial numbers, and this is apparently a problem with the batch, I'm going to send in both sub amp boards for replacement. Thanks to the OP for posting about this problem.
