I uploaded 4 pics to my ad today - 1 loaded fine and 3 loaded upside down for some reason - all had the same file size, etc. I tried reloading the incorrect versions and 1 corrected itself but I still have 2 pics that are upside down and will not load correctly - any suggestions that may help.
Thanks,

Did you take the photos with your camera phone? Sometimes the orientation could be off it's axis due to the meta data info stored by your camera.

Try opening them in a photo editing program to see how if it's the correct way up.

I had already edited them with paint to size them down and everything is appearing fine on my pc - they were all shot with the same orientation?

hmm, the only other thing I can suggest is right before you click "submit" turn your computer upside down. I've heard that this can work unless you are in Australia, 'natch.

I've rotated the images in your ad.

When uploading images it is recommended to follow these:

  • Never rotate your image in an application like Photoshop, Windows Image Preview etc.. These will rotate the image but not update the meta data. Many programs actually damage or don't update the meta data properly leading to improper rotation by other applications like CAM.
  • Avoid rotating the image at all in any application, test uploading to CAM first. CAM auto rotates based on camera and phone orientation data.
  • It's ok to resize photos before uploading as long as you don't rotate them.
  • If taking a photo with a smartphone, try to take the photo with the phone looking "forwards". Eg don't point the camera towards the ground. When pointing towards the ground its easier for the camera's gyroscope to record the improper orientation.

Since your photos are of CDs on the ground I think the last point is what happened.

You may want to angle the phone a bit more when taking photos.

Mods can rotate images in ads so if you have any images that look like the wrong orientation you can email moderators or post in the forums and we can rotate them for you.
