Just received my new “The Wall” 2016 vesrion 180g LP. Playing it now while typing. What a great pressing! No surface noise. The mastering is also superb. Grab them while they are available. Also wondering if other PF albums issued in 2016 are also that good.

They're all great. Bernie did an amazing job. DSOTM and Meddle sound very nice.

No doubt it sounds great.
Whenever I cave and buy a digitally recorded or remastered album on vinyl I can only justify it for the jacket art and sleeve. With a good playback system new vinyl might easily be mistaken for digital completely in terms of the low noise.
It is amazing how some recordings can be cleaned up and different sounds brought forward or moved back plus a few modern ideas applied resulting in significantly different sounding tracks.

I agree. I have about 6 of the 180 gram reissues that Bernie Grundmann did- they are all excellent. I didn't gett The Wall yet but I'm sure this new reissue will sound better than an orig Canadian pressing of the Wall. It's so well recorded and produced (Toronto Bob Ezrin), classic. I was impressed with the mastering of Animals which is still one of my fav's aside from Meddle. I compared the reissue of my Animals Japanese pressing to the reissue, overall the reissue was better. Not much better, but better.

I have the Canadian, American, and Japanese pressings already...so...

The Japanese pressing is really good. JVC supervinyl kinda thing.

IIRC JVC still has not released the formulation information of supervinyl? All while refusing to manufacture it? Real 'dog in a manger' stuff.

One of the most eye opening experiences (quality increase) I've ever heard was the R2R 7.5 ips 'master copy' version of Hendrix's "Are you experienced?".
