I have just finished a turntable project and wanting to source out a longer 2mm belt. I have been using a Clearaudio 36 in silicone belt from my Emotion table and while it works I believe there is too much tension. The platter turns very freely when the belt is not attached but when attached it is tight with no inertia. The motor is a stand alone 10 watt AC VPI motor so lots of power so not concerned about the strength and the Delrin platter weighs about8 pounds. I have heard thar you can use fishing line but not sure if the knot will bother me. I am thinking of a 38 inch might be better. I have attached a photo. Thanks

I found silk thread to be more to my liking than fishing line, more flex in the material and the knot sounds quieter. Saying that I bought an Origin Live belt and it works great, has enough flex and is super quiet. They will make any length you want, nice table by the way.

If you decide you want to go rubber, then there may be something here:

also, try the main prb website
