I recently acquired a lot of mid 50's Heathkit preamps, tuners and amp - not to mention a mint EV Regency speaker:). Amongst the items was an ESL 301 moving coil step-up transformer. I didn't think much of it at the time, but out of curiosity I googled it. And lone be hold, I see that these things are selling for up to $2000 US. Can anyone shed any light on what makes this little 2" by 3" box so special?

If you don't have anything intelligent to say, then remain silent and let someone who is helpful, chime in.

Why explain a wealth of complex detail, when all the information required to find out, in mere seconds, no less... is contained within those two words?

I googled those two words and found out in, well... mere seconds. (less than a minute)

To be fair, I didn't find a reference to EML 301 when I googled Jorgen Schou.

Kinda looked like Libor was being helpful in an intelligent way, whereas you chose the typically aggressive internet keyboard warrior approach.
Maybe try “thanks for the hint, I’ll give google a whirl.” next time.

Do you think that I didn't have the sense to try Google first.... His comment was sarcastic and demeaning. And how do you think you are able to get info on the internet - because members of forums like this one, add to it.

Libor pointed you in the right direction, effectively giving you exactly what you asked for. What more do you need?
